James is a London-based writer and director.
His debut feature, romantic drama Hi-Lo Joe, was completed in 2015 and was chosen for Film London's Breakthrough strand, playing at the 2016 BFI Expo. It had its European Premiere at the prestigious 27th Festival Du Film Britannique Dinard. It was also selected for festivals in Eindhoven, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles and Snowdance in Germany. It was subsequently picked up by the LA-based, international sales agent, The Little Film Company.
His second feature, action thriller Knuckledust, is a $2 million UK/French/Estonian co-production with The Project and Featuristic Films. It features an award winning cast and is set to shoot late 2018. Oscar-nominated director Sergei Bodrov (Mongol, Seventh Son) as an Executive Producer. His screenplay for Fractures in The Flesh, a Lebanon set drama, is greenlit and shooting in the Spring of 2019. He has six other screenplays for film and TV in various stages of development with production companies attached.
James was appointed Head of Creative Development at Featuristic Films in November 2016 where he oversees the development of all feature film projects, works with the screenwriters and helps decide what films fit into their slate.
