x is collaborating with The Lynch Brothers once more to produce the paranoid wartime thriller We Await the Roar.
It’s 1940, a young farmer, prevented from fighting in WW2 by his controlling and abusive father, is presented with an opportunity to play his part when he is recruited into a secret guerrilla resistance to defend his country in the event of a Nazi invasion.
The film is written by David T. Lynch and Keith Lynch and will be their feature directorial debut. The brothers have recently had success with their International Space Station-set thriller event series, Orbital, being set up at Netflix US. Based on their original concept, they will co-create the series with Steve Blackman (the showrunner of The Umbrella Academy) and will direct an episode. Paul Harry Thomas previously produced David and Keith’s short film Old Habits in 2013.
We Await the Roar has been selected for Film London’s Production Finance Market as part of the New Talent Strand in October.
